Blue Mackerel

Blue Mackerel is a 1GW offshore wind farm in Australia that is  positioned to be one of the first offshore wind projects to supply sustainable energy to Australian homes and industry. The project is being developed by Parkwind and is located off the coast of Brataualung and Tatungalung Country, Gippsland, approximately 10km from Seaspray, Victoria.

The Blue Mackerel team is working in partnership with the Gunaikurnai people, the custodians of the Land and Sea Country on which the project is planned. The project site is part of an interconnected cultural landscape that includes both land and waters.

In April 2024, the Australian Government awarded the Blue Mackerel project a seven-year feasibility licence for a 163km2 area.

Subject to approvals, Blue Mackerel would deliver its planned capacity of 1GW of renewable energy by 2032. That’s enough to provide over half a million Victorian homes with green power.

Blue Mackerel is accelerating offshore wind in Australia to create lasting environmental, economic and social benefits.
